The
Starwood Group of companies is one of the foremost exporters of Russian
steel in the world today, as well as a major supplier of specialised equipment
and raw materials to the Russian and European steel industry.
We have offices all over the world, strategically located in the major steel consuming and producing areas, Ekaterinburg, Shanghai and London with our group head office based in the Isle of Man. Starwood has a very close connection to one of the largest steel mills in Russia, Nizhny Tagil Steel Works (“NTMK”). This mill is the only producer in Russia of steel wide flange beams and columns and has been exporting for several years through our Group to markets throughout the world including the USA, Canada, South America, UK, Middle East, SE Asia, China and India. In addition to our business with NTMK we are a supplier of specialised raw materials to a number of major steel mills in Russia and Western Europe. As a result we are in a strong position to supply regularly a wide range of other steel products from steel mills such as hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil, galvanised and tin plated coils, electrical steel sheets for the manufacture of electrical dynamos and transformers and special steel bars for engineering applications. The Starwood Group places great emphasis on providing a highly professional service to both its suppliers and customers. We specialise in marketing higher value products in order to give the suppliers better returns. In order to facilitate these higher value products we provide investments to the producers to assist them in improving their products and quality range. Similarly, the Group has always placed a very high importance on an efficient and integrated logistical control of every stage of our business. Our office in Ekaterinburg is located both in the centre of the largest steel producing area in Russia as well as the hub of the Russian rail network connecting the mills with the seaports. The Starwood Group also has an in-house shipping department located in the London office which handles all the freight fixtures for the Group and third party cargoes. Our shipping department is active in all areas of ocean transportation from coastal shipments of steel products through to the capesize shipments for raw material products such as iron ore. |
